Marine Conservation Activities KYORITSU METAL INDUSTRY UMI* PROJECT
Our wish is to maintain a sustainable global environment and to develop communities based on this foundation.
Since our company is located in the coastal area of Yokohama City, we are promoting activities with the theme of
the “ocean” as part of the KYORITSU METAL INDUSTRY UMI PROJECT.
Supporting Eelgrass Cultivation
Eelgrass is a type of seagrass that inhabits shallow waters where sunlight reaches well, and it is part of the blue carbon ecosystem.
By cooperating in activities such as seed collection and sowing, our company is working to restore the richness of the ocean.
Beach Cleanups
Kanazawa Ward in Yokohama City, where our company is located, is blessed with a beautiful ocean, yet it also suffers from various types of waste being discarded and washed ashore.
Our executives and employees contribute to the beautification of the coastline by regularly cleaning the beach.
Marine Conservation Research
Recognizing the limitations of individual efforts, our company supports research aimed at marine conservation as well as educational and research institutions that carry out such activities, thereby assisting in the significant advancement of marine conservation efforts.
UMI Subsidy
Believing that the development of coastal regions leads to the creation of a better marine environment, we provide subsidies to our executives and employees when they visit the ocean during their leisure time, promoting the revitalization of coastal areas.
